The Tiers Tertiary / Sexual - Hookups, FWBs, and other purely sexual trysts fall into this realm. Secondary / Emotional - Partners with whom emotional support is shared but who may not be considered long term or deeply committed fall in this area.
Primary / Committed - Partners who plan to spend a long time together in a committed manner (financial, geographic, familial) fall into this category.
*Note: Asexuals would not experience the Tertiary / Sexual Category, but simply have friends, Secondaries, and Primaries, without a sexual aspect.
