#0 Evolution of An Ally (aka Questions people will ask that are opportunities to turn them into allies).

"You do WHAT?"

"That's not just cheating?"

"They... know about each other?"

"Is it like Sister Wives?"*

"So it's not that serious, right?"

"Wow, that must be exhausting."

"Who's most important to you? You rank them, right?"

"That's not sustainable long-term though, right? Like, you're only going to settle down with one?"

"How the hell are you going to all live together?"

"Can you really raise a baby? Who's going to be the father? What will the child call the parents?"

I've been asked these questions so many times I can recite them and my answers in my sleep. Each polyamorous/non-monogamous set-up will have their own specific answers, but with the coming series of posts I hope to help others come up with theirs by posting examples.

*I have never seen an episode of Sister Wives. Mormon polygamy, from what I've researched, just allows one man to push the patriarchal, traditional, stifling marriage construct onto multiple women at the same time in the most direct manner. So, no, I doubt they’re anything alike.
