Abstinence and Closed Relationships

If a relationship is closed, in a way they are using abstinence as protection. Just remember, though: abstinence is only as safe as the practitioners are trustworthy. Abstinence should never be rules-lawyered after the fact, either: if one partner thinks an act doesn’t count and the other does, the damage is done. You’ve cheated, you’ve betrayed their trust and disrespected them, and you have potentially exposed them to an STD.
